“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Luke 6:35 (NIV)
People may disadvantage us for following Christ, but that doesn’t mean we cease being a Christian. Relationships are not mere business transactions requiring us to come out with profit, but relationships are opportunities to show the grace of Christ to the least deserving. We may protect our interests, but we can afford to let go of the wrongs because we rely on God’s judgement against the wrongdoer, not our own.
An enemy may gloat in having the upper hand over us, but no circumstance of this world will change our eternal position in Christ Jesus. The affairs of men are subject to the dwindling sands of time but our life is hide in Christ for eternity.
Let’s pray today to trust in God to ultimately handle the enemies that we face.
