I am a church pastor by education and vocation, but web design became a hobby for me in 1996 when I was the pastor of a church near Huntsville, Alabama with a parishioner who worked as the Information Technology Director at a local college.
With the parishioner’s help, I developed a website for our congregation there using Microsoft Word. I have used several web design software, but today I am a big supporter of WordPress and I use DreamHost as my hosting company.
I am a big advocate of do-it-yourself simple websites and small church pastors or ministry leaders having website content control for immediate changes and updates, too. If you can afford $10 a month for hosting, and want to create your own website, you can afford to have a web presence for you church, ministry, or small business.
